Product selection
What information is needed to select solar module clamps?
Updated 2026-11-01 · JINSHANG
For solar module clamp selection, start by identifying the position. An end clamp retains the outside edge of a framed PV module row; a mid clamp secures adjoining module frames at an interior fixing point. They are different configurations and should not be selected from appearance alone.
Prepare the information below before requesting a quotation:
1. Module interface: provide the module manufacturer/model or frame drawing, frame height, and the required gap between adjacent modules when selecting a mid clamp. Use the actual frame drawing when available.
2. Rail interface: provide the rail profile or cross-section, fixing channel or slot, and intended attachment position.
3. Fastening: provide required bolt/interface details and any installation torque stated in the approved system design. Do not assume a torque value.
4. Product requirements: state material and surface-finish requirements if specified by the project, plus quantity, delivery destination, and required delivery date.
5. Reference documents: include an assembly drawing, drawing revision, or existing part number if available. A photograph can help identify a part, but it is not a dimensional specification.
Ask the supplier to identify the proposed product reference and return an approved, dimensioned drawing or quotation that states the selected frame fit, module gap and clamp length as applicable, rail and fastener compatibility, material/finish, and any specified fastening values. Verify those documents against the module and mounting-system design before ordering.
The current public records for Solar Module End Clamps (JS-005) and Solar Module Mid Clamps (JS-006) do not provide numerical dimensions or performance ratings. Confirm those values for the selected product using its approved drawing or quotation; do not estimate them from photographs. Product suitability and installation torque must follow the approved system design.
